Doing things spontaneously

I Believe I can Fly ( flight of the frenchies). Trailer from sebastien montaz-rosset on Vimeo.

Have you ever thought of doing things dangerously and spontaneously in your life. Like the video in this post *credit to Hanie Hidayah's blog*. Yes, I'm a rigid follower of hers. She's awesome, beauty with brain and very-the-adventurous. And of course, she has fashion sense as well. Well, 2011 is coming to an end in less than 24 hours. So what's yours for 2012? Me? I have few plans to execute. First start will be this coming March, I won't want to reveal it as yet because I don't want to jinx it. Pictures will be up after that month, of course.

I don't set any resolution this year as I know I'll end up not fulfilling it. So yeah, I'll just change it when I want to. As what I read in Melissa's post, 'I believe its better to know what you want to do and what you must do in your heart and mind than to write it on a piece of paper. Papers go missing all the time, don't they?' There's a truth in it. I want to do things before I hit the bucket or before I say 'I do' to the one. I do not want to live in regret for not doing things that I want to do. Seriously. Living in regrets will not guarantee you a happy life as you will dwell on the things you've never did when you had the chance to.

I'll start with baby steps on things I want and gradually move to bigger one. No one can run before they learn to walk right?

So peeps, I would like to take this chance to wish everyone a Happy New Year 2012. Be a responsible driver and party safe. You don't want to start the New Year in a lock up.

Years will pass..memories would last. Cherish the good ones and ignore what gives pain..Celebrate New Year in a cheerful spirit, by not regretting or feeling proud of gains.

post Birthday

So this year's birthday was quite simple. Had a night out with sister for her US trip shopping and movie. Then meet up with BFF Alla for supper as well as Along. She catch up with us later on as she finishes work at about 11. While me, BFF and Dianah was waiting for her, we strolled along the QB coastal eating what that is called 'Sate Ikan'. Seems like it is one of Kuala Trengganu local delicacies. Hhmmm... RM1 for 5 sticks of sate ikan. I had about 10 sticks. Talk about being fat. See how my diet ruinned?..
So Along came along at about 11.30pm. Walked all the way to Kapitan QB. As we were lazy to drive somewhere else. I had butter chicken (as usual) and cheese naan. Shared with BFF as I was quite full. Had late lunch before that with Dianah. The clock struck 12am. The 3 of them wishes me Happy Birthday and snapped a few photos.

I told the 2 of them that they're like cute guys magnet. When ever I'm with them, I see so many hot hunks...Tergugat iman...Haizzz.

Sorry the cake was half eaten, then I remembered to take a caption of it...Doink!!

Merry X'mas everyone

This post will be full with photos and I was a bit in a lazy mode to update this blog. Well, today is the eve of Christmas and I just came back from shopping with little sister and for the first time ever in my life, I came back empty handed..I'm so proud...See, 1 step at a time.

This was our Christmas celebration in cafeteria which was last week.

Christmas celebration with my team cum birthday celebration.

This was our last class with our Spanish teacher, Ms Ummu Salmah. You can't believe that she speaks fluent English.

Our celebration after the class. And the last pics shows the biggest jokker in our class. Classic...

I'll be a year older but I still get my prezzie

I guess some of my close friends know that my birthday is like..what?  14 days more to go? Well, as usual, I would ask birthday present from daddy and guess what, the same bloody item and this time coincidently the same brand. Now I have 3 of them. I'm an avid watch collector. These are my favourites minus some which I broke it or lose it:-). I have a pair of clumsy hands. Yes, I repeat clumsy hands.. I can break your mobile phone head piece in 2 days (which I did with mine).. See how disastrous I can be...Bad, I know.

Back to the story on how it begun. Mummy and daddy were down here for holiday after sending adik to KL for her AFS camp (American Field Study) which will be roughly a week. We went to Gurney Plaza for dinner and I saw Tissot boutique and didn't know it was there for quite some time. The intention was just to take a look at their watches as daddy do like watches too (see where the trait starts). A black face watch captures my attention and I turned to daddy. After that, that black face watch became mine:-)

This was a birthday gift as well from daddy for my 21st birthday in Sri Lanka

The black face one  was my birthday gift for this year and next to it was my degree graduation gift

New Year Resolutions....again...

Things has not gone as planned this year..Not that it did not work, but I guess I did not put my fullest effort in it. Anyway, I'm going to be a year older this month and I've been doing a lot of thinking lately. First and foremost, I've gotta put my priority straight. I have to cut my spending (I shop a lot) and I know that is bad. Secondly, I have to save money to get a house and maybe a better car. Thirdly, giving money every MONTH to mummy and daddy (I do that like...once ina blue moon?? I know I'm bad)...All these lists are not in sequence. I just put it in writing on things that coems through my mind. On top of all, I've gotta finish my MBA a.s.a.p and I'm freaking out. Lessons are not getting any easier. It's getting harder on each new semester..Gosh..

1. Cut on my shopping spending (Dear shopping devils, please be nice to me in year 2012)
2. Finish up my masters.
3. Go for an annual trip to different countries.
4. Save money for a new house.
5. Give mummy money every month.
6. Putting my career in the right path (Yes, i want to be a director).
7. Live healthily. As in no more gallons of oil in my cooking and in my food...I'm going to miss it.

These are the easiest list one has ever list down but with all the devils God created to test you, definitely it won't be an easy task...I can do it. With supports all around my 'waist', am gonna do it by hook or by crook. Even if I have to starve myself (since I can no longer wear my Roxy jeans).

Thing I've tried and thing I've changed

I have always use Nivea range of skin lotion but I decided to swap it with the new Vaseline Total Moisture Cocoa Glow. Yes, I keep changing lotions based of the smell...Bad, I know.Similar to Body Shop cocoa butter range. Second day of using it, I truly love it. It is slightly brownish in color, thick and rich texture. Nice. You can get it at your nearest Watson store (not sure if it's available in other leading pharmacy). Try it. But one thing I don't really favour about this lotion is that, after using it, you'll smell like chocolate...Delicious...

The chocolate was a gift from my Spanish teacher. She's nice actually but really strict in giving marks to students. She'll push you to the extreme. Good though or else, you won't learn anything. She speaks fluent Spanish being a Malaysian..Salute her. She used to study Masters in Foreign Language in Spain for 2 years (if I still remember her stories when I first attended her first class). And peeps, I need a lot of luck this time so that I can pass my Spanish Level 1.
Heard good things about this bread shop from friends. Four Season situated in Straits Quay, Penang. A posh place for those who has a factory that produces money. Anyway, as I was there last weekend to buy some deco for my office's Christmas celebration, I thought why not take a peek but that 'take a peek' session ended with me buying 3 breads which total of RM15!

French music greets you when you enter the store with 2 tables for dine-in customers. The layout will make you feel as though you're in Paris, minus the kitchen staff and cashier who are locals. The smell of freshly made bread will make your stomach dancing to the music of Enrique. *drool while typing this*

Places I want to visit before I kick the bucket

Looking at many fascinating places people visit knocks my head clearly on what I want to put in my 2012 Resolution list, one of it will be to visit different countries every year..Insyaallah. Definitely I would like to visit Europe up to South Africa. The safaris are damn cool over there. I've been to Thailand, New South Wales (Australia), Colombo(Sri Lanka) and India. My favourite will definitely Sri Lanka. The people are friendly and food are simply delicious. Their fine dining cuisine are absolute finger licking good. They have many old buildings. Similarly to Penang Heritage Sites. They don't really have big shopping malls. The biggest that they have will beas big as...let me see....eermmm..Balai Polis in Penang Road maybe?. They're famous with hotels and cotton products. And their poverty level are not as bad as India.

COLOMBO INDEPENDENCE HALL

We visited Colombo Independence Hall in conjunction with the 1st year anniversary of tsunami tragedy. We lit candles around the hall with the rest and sat there for about an hour. It was a sad moment. Some of them brought their family members who were the victim of the tsunami. It was devastating. We even visited tsunami affected area along the coast line of Bentota, Hikkaduwa, Galle, Matara and Hambantota, . It was about 2 1/2 hours journey from Colombo. We went there for just a day trip. You can view the map here. After the incident, houses are to build 1KM away from the coastline. The place are not fully recovered up till today. It will definitely take some time.

It was 1 day before my birthday, so daddy bought 26 baby turtles from a guy whose turtle sanctuary was swept away by the tsunami including his 2 albino turtle (he found only 1 of them). Coincidently, he'll be releasing the baby turtles into the sea once it is hatch, so 26 among hundreds of the turtles that he'll be releasing will be mine. We could not witness the amazing journey of these babies as we did not spend a night in that area (I can't remember what was the name). It was a good experience to actually be grateful what we have here in Malaysia.

Christmas and USS Singapore

So ,how's your Christmas preparation? Not yet. Well, too bad. See how excited we were in the office. We decorated our cubes with fake snows (using cottons) as well as some Christmas ornaments (by our own cost okay!). The view are nicer at the ground floor of our office as almost the whole floor are decorated with Christmas theme (with Christmas trees except us). They are much more creative than we are. If feels like we're in the US. With fake snows around. And oohh ya, we're having Christmas gift exchange this coming 15th December..Oohh how excited I'm. Already bought the presents as well..Ohh lala..

No, I didn't visit USS for the 2nd time but I miss it...Well, I guess everyone knows that there's this new ride called Transformers: The Ride 3D. You can watch it in YouTube. It is a ride with moving chairs that follows the scene in the movie. Cool right?? I can't watch to visit USS again. The first time was when it was first open. Tickets were like S$73 (weekends rate). Yes, ticket prices are divided into 2. For weekdays and weekends. But I advise you to buy those ticket via on-line months before your travel date or else you'll be taking photos just in front of the entrance :-(.

We were lucky as there are number visitors who did not showed up even when they have bought the tickets online and paid by credit card. So they ticket attendant sold it to the 4 of us (mummy, adik, 2 of my mum's bff daughters, and me).. But sadly, it was raining season and some of the rides are not officially open yet. There are number of rides that will scare the living s*** out of you like :

Cylon Terror Ride, Revenge of the Mummy,

No I did not hop on any of the ride and Yes I'm a scary cat. I will vomit on you after the ride so don't bother to ask me to go on the ride with you!. Anyway, if I had the chance to go there again, I'll definitely CHOOSE to ride on some of the stuff there.

A year older

Well, the answer will be YES and NO. YES, I'll be a year older in December. NO, my birthday is not today but it will be after Christmas. Jo gave me the present earlier as I think she'll be away from the office starting this middle of the month. She's sweet and generous. She brings fruits for us almost everyday. And oohh, she practise yoga as well. Not the basic one but the professional one I think.

You wonder why I have a lot of this similar product right? Well, all are gifts from Jo. She has a year stock of it. So don't bother giving her L'Occitane or Crabtree and Evelyn. Find something else for her as a present. Seriously.

Below is the list of wish list I obtained from a children's home. A place where we'll be spending 1 day for a charity work that we'll be organizing on January 3rd next year. I'm spearheading this event so imagine the things that me and my team have to prepare. A lot of it. But it's worth it for the sake of the children. This list were prepared in conjunction with 'Adopt a Kid' program that a few of us suggested. It was a good idea.

The centre was so clean and organized. The children and the caretaker takes care of the house themselves. No maid, just themselves. They were cleaning the house compound when I got there. The home were surrounded by trees so it was shaded from the sun and you'll wake up to a cold morning dew and you can't see the house from the roadside. You have to enter a small road through a Chinese cemeteries. Spooky though plus I was alone...Imagine that.

Ok, so one of the caretaker passed me the wish list which was dropped by Dr.Chandra (head of the house). I opened it and read it. To my surprise, the children's wishes were not what I expected. It was something that none of us would put in a wish list. I got into the car and cried. Not because I'm sad but because it made me realized how selfish I was and how much of things in life I took granted for. These kids just wanted the small little things that we have never thought of to have as a present. I hope this will open the eyes of everyone on how to appreciate life even the little things..
