What I did over the weekend

Had my haircut and scalp treatment after months. Decided to try APT Professionals Team hair salon. You don't need to do any appointment best of all but advisable to do it especially during peak seasons like CNY, Hari Raya. It's a first come, first serve basis. They have a few branches in Malaysia but only 1 in Penang. Was recommended by my best friend. Best of all, the staffs there are good looking...heheheh. It's something a girl need in a salon.
You can find them at:
             171, Jalan Burmah, 10050, Pulau Pinang  10050

         04-227 0333

Wanna see 'Man' of Liberty but Malaysia version....surprise!!

See, you don't have to spend thousands of ringgit to visit one of the hot spot from the States. Instead we bring 'her' here.

Nasreen and Hafiz

A close friend of mine got married early of this month and I was so happy to be there. It was such an intimate wedding event with close friends and close family & relatives attended the special day.
I think we were the one having fun with the photobooth. Met an unexpected old friend from high school and we hung out in KLCC later after the event.
It was like a mini gathering for us. Hahahha

Fancy something fast and easy?

Feeling hungry but lazy to cook? Want to grab something which is even faster than McDonald but not fast food? Well I have found my favourite. Introducing Sri Kulai Cafe. A cafe with frozen food concept.

SRI KULAI, 1st Microwavable halal frozen ready to eat Malaysian Meals! Sri Kulai products are ready-to-eat in frozen form and microwave ready,
and also free from preservatives, free from MSG, come in biodegradable packaging, and are Halal certified by JAKIM.
The multi-award winning Sri Kulai ready to eat meals (all are cooked meals) are manufactured by AYS Sdn Bhd, and come in 3 categories of wh

olesome meals namely: 1. Snack/light meals such as the specialty dim sum and noodle range 2. Complete meals such as Malaysians' all time favorites chicken rice and fried rice 3. Dishes such as sambal prawn, curry chicken, roast chicken For a larger choice of meals from Sri Kulai and diverse spread for breaking fast, customers can also choose from over 30 varieties of items available at the Sri Kulai ready-to-eat station.

About Sri Kulai Sri Kulai is a homegrown multi award-winning Malaysian Halal frozen Ready to Eat Meals brand pioneered by AYS Sdn Bhd. The brand is made up of more than 130 range of meals from snacks, complete meals to favourite recipes.

The Sri Kulai range of products has won numerous awards since its launch in November 2008 including the coveted The Halal Journal Awards for Best Halal Product in 2009, the MIFT Product Innovation Gold Award 2009 from the Malaysian Institute of Food Technology, and voted by readers as the “Top 5 Nasi Lemak in Klang Valley 2010” by New Straits Times, and the “Best Ready To Eat Frozen Meal 2010 by Malaysian Women’s Weekly”. Sri Kulai has been hailed as the “Malaysian Power Brand 2010” for its mark of quality in the Halal Food Industry whereas the manufacturer, AYS Sdn Bhd has also won numerous awards such as the SME 100 Fast Moving Companies Awards 2010, and more recently, the prestigious Special Awards for Product Excellence at the recent Industry Excellence Awards 2010 presented by the Ministry of International Trade & Industry Development Malaysia.

I think this is the first frozen food concept in Malaysia. I was sceptical about frozen food when I first entered the shop. I though 'Nah, how could frozen food be delicious as fresh;y prepared??' Wait till you taste them.

1. A cosy sitting area greets you when you enter the cafe. You can choose from a cushion like sitting (nearby to the counter)to a normal wooden-cushion-table kind of sitting on the outside part of the cafe.

2. The blue cover freezer is where all the frozen food available on the menu are kept. You can choose which ever you favour. As for drinks, there are juices, cappuccino, and other choices of coffee.

3. Sri Kulai has been reviewed in newspapers like Straits Times, The Star and top magazines company like Women's Weekly. They got good reviews on their food. With cosy seating and ambience, you will definitely sit more than 2 hours in that cafe. We know cause we did that
:-)

4. 8 microwaves provided for you to cook your frozen food for 4 minutes and then you got to enjoy your favourite food. Dishes like nasi leamk with rendang ayam also available, spaghetti bolognese.

5. Honey glaze chicken with potato and carrot (top photo), nasi lemak with rendang ayam and sambal (below). Best part is the ikan bilis are still crunchy even though they're frozen before they are cooked. It tasted delicious.

Sanzaru by Adam Sinclair

"Sanzaru is a film that explores this theory and how we look at ourselves in a few given situations. Will we just turn a blind eye or will we take a chance and break out of our shell to risk our own time and safety to help a stranger?"

Take a few minutes to watch this video. Evaluate and ask yourself whether have you done your part as a good citizen when you see something bad happens to other? Did you act upon that or you walk away just because that somebody is a no one to you? What if that person is someone dear to you? Will it change your reactions?

Christmas is around the corner

I had a stroll in 1st Avenue with dearest fiancée after dinner and bumped into this X'mas tree. It reminded me of how exciting it was Xmas in Singapore. I miss those moment especially in Orchard. We'll go out and come back late at night on X'mas eve. Those young moments.

Review: Nour Ain Beauty Care range

So, I think everyone is waiting for this review...I think so. As I mentioned previously in my post for Nour Ain beauty care rage it's truly a Malaysian product created by the locals. Originally from Sg Petani.
I've tried soooooooooo many beauty products in the market. Name it. None of them I have not tried (over the counter products), and none of them worked. My pimples only occur during the day of 'the' month but my major melt down are my pimple scare especially below the chin. So I've decided to try Nour Ain range recommended by my best friend Fifi. RM100 for a complete set. Talking about saving and budget friendly. Let's move on with the stories.

 1. Nour Ain beauty soap
You can use it every time you take your shower. Twice for a normal person during weekdays. It doesn't make your skin feel tight. Like some of the facial cleanser you see on the supermarket shelf. The smell reminded you of an orange :-). Refreshing aite.

2. Toner
Use it after you use Nour Ain beauty soap. It doesn't have the tingling sensation especially when you have your pimples popped out. It's not an alcohol based toner. That is why you don't have the burning feeling on your pimple. Spray it on a cotton face and dab it all over your face.

3. Beauty serum
2 to 3 drops on your palm after using the toner. It doesn't have any smell and doesn't feel sticky on your face. It absorb right away onto your skin and your skin feels supple and refreshing. You can use any time of the day.

4. UV foundation cream
This application starts after your serum and only for day use. It can be your make up base foundation but you can still use your own foundation if you wish to. It works great.

5. Night cream
As you know, every complete product will have a night cream. This will be use for night and it doesn't feel oily. Light and absorb into your skin easily.

Another adventure with the family

Had another trip down to KL last weekend. It was awesome. But this time I felt the time was quite tight. Didn't have the time to visit other places than IKEA...again for the meatballs. Dinner in Empire Gallery (Bangkok Bistro). Food was awesome. Simple dishes I can say...

Lunch with nephew, niece, my aunt, my family and my cousin.

When you have a sister which is 10 years of gap from you plus little nephew and niece. Expect this to happen

BFF day out

Weekend was spend wisely with dearest fiancee and BFF. Alla is in KL so too bad she couldn't join. Called her earlier just to 'kacau' her and she was in a karaoke session with her friends. Went for some accessories shopping yesterday for a wedding in KL next month. A close friend back in high school to be exact. Super excited. A friend where we used to exchange letters of gossip (even though her class is just below my floor).

Lipgloss RM 15 for 3 (F21). Gave 2 to Fie as she loves make-ups. Mind was bubble-gum color.

Then had our tea-time in Austin Chase (it's almost a year since its opening and I've never been there*gosh*). So called tea-time, I ordered fish and chips, Darjeeling tea, beef pie and some coffee thingy (BFF Fi lovesssssssssss coffee) and it tasted 'pahit'. For the fish and chips, you might want to share with a friend cause it comes in a huge portion (huge for me as I am not a great eater)

My ribbon necklace which I bought in F21. Love it.

Pre Deepavali shopping

We had an awesome Deepavali shopping. Don't get me wrong. We don't celebrate Deepavali but accompanied bff Fi. She wanted to buy Indian traditional dress for a wedding that has Bollywood as the theme. And bought some accessories to compliment the dress as well.

Then we went to Kopitan for dinner with dearest fiancée as well. Food was good plus a great company. What could I ask more right... A best friend and a caring partner. Aahhh, awesome.
I have never done any henna tattoo before. So I'd thought since I am already there, why not I try one. RM10 for a simple henna tattoo. Maybe it will suit my wedding gown. Not bad I guess. But after  having them on my hands, I think I'll pass.

Aloha

It was a great weekend (26th - 28th October, Hari Raya Haji) with the family as we drove down to to KL to meet little sister and my cousins. We stayed at the same hotel but this time I suggested daddy to book family room due to Dianah got infected by lice. Don't ask me how she got it.
I wore my red dress that I have bought many months back but did not get the chance wear it so I'd thought I bring it to KL to pair it with a pair of flats. Comfy but a little body hugging (due to my body gained some 'happy' weight ever since I got engaged, blame it on fiancée ! *love*hahahaha).
I was surprised on how grown up my nephew and niece were. The last I saw was, I think, they were slightly smaller or yea, maybe I have vision problem. Knowing that I can knock down a thrash can while walking on walkway side, it's a no surprise then.
Bought a wedding planner book which is on sale for 70% if you buy 6 or more books at one time. Me and BFF, Alla has big time to choose. There were lots of them but most of them were novels. Knowing I'm not the gooey type on the outside, I passed those books.

Indonesian tea at Dianah's Indonesia+Malaysia mix close friend, Puteri. vanilla latte with dearest fiancée last few days, engagement ring, pendant and saphire ring. It was a great weekend, but............as someone's fiancée. Which never  once, I thought I would be.

An outing with my ex high school friends yesterday, Alla and Along. Pick Alla up at about 9am...yes, I woke up at 8.15. Please don't be surprise even though I know it's a rare event   :-).
We went for breakfast in Old Town first and proceed with movie in QB,                              Silent Hill: Revelation.
It was not a horror movie which I first thought it was. A lot of surprise element though. When the movie ended, it was about time for lunch and Along joined us. We had a long chat and gossips. It was nice to see them again.

Yes, I am half hitched

To be honest, I'm surprised myself that I would come to this point of my life. Never once I thought I would be engaged. Knowing how free bird kind of person I am, it was merely impossible. Seriously....I'm still slapping myself in the face every single day. This is the simplest ceremony I can think of. Even a birthday party has 'kenduri'. But since both sides were okay to do it this way, why not. Furthermore, it's only an engagement. I rather save the money for the wedding which is the most important event of all, right?

Well, I have found the man of my life and I'm happy. Even though it was just a short while of knowing each other, but I know for sure that he is the one. Cliche kan but it's the truth. People say that you'll know who is your Mr.Right when you meet one and I've found mine. Happy, excited and lil' bit moved and I'll be ending my SOLOhood status. Lucky me that I have found someone like daddy. A man that I have been looking up to.

One chapter of my life has ended, now it's time to leap to another one and more to come. Now I can buy lotsa wedding mags and plan my own wedding. As simple yet personal as possible.

What has been happening

Life's been shitty to me for the past few days but yet I have had an amazing journey. With strong support system, family and loved one, I managed to pulled through. It's hard...it is.
Attended an old friend's wedding, with HH around, fruits for the family. It has been a fun time. Having the family over for the past 2 weeks makes everything so different.

I have been wanting to visit Penang's Heritage site for quite some time. Sorry for the late publish as I was hooked up with a few things. We parked the car and walked around as the places that we were heading are quite narrow. Mainly they're one way street. Bumped into a few unique shops which you can't see by the road side. It's amazing how they could retain the old school building and all. But since most of the places are tourist attraction area, the stuffs are quite pricey.

What I love to do before getting hitched...which I wouldn't know when

  1. Visit one of the 7 wonders of the world...(don't have the $ to visit every one of it)
  2. To get my deep-sea scuba diving license.
  3. To visit any one of the EU countries.
  4. To go for a road trip with my best friends (you know who you're)
  5. To go island hoping.
  6. To go a road trip with little sister.
  7. To have a whole collections of luxury watches (the brands will not end, actually)
  8. Holiday in the Caribbean or Maldives.
  9. And these are the things I can think of.............................at the moment but I know there will be additional things in the list later on............

What life are made of

I had an awesome weekend, consider many things has happened. Managed to talked to 3 of my besties over the same conversation and they have never once felt boring. Called my bestie in Alor Star and had a short chat and it feels good. These are the people that gave you the strength to stand firm on the ground when you collapsed. Don't you think so? How on earth you want to recover from anything without the support of your friends. Minus off your supportive family members. Given the circumstances that you're far from your family.

The short Melaka trip was something I really need it. I did not go for any trip for some time. Don't include the Aidilfitri holiday. That's hectic but was definitely fun. Laughed and food hunt with the family. With little sister being far away from us. It's good to have a get together.

And a friend of mine passed away. We went to the same high school and the last we met was last week at BFF Alla's Raya open house. It was devastating and shocked to everyone of us because it was unexpected. He was a bubbly person and we often contact each other now and then through texts or FB comments. He looked happy the last time and did not act unusual. But God loves him more.........Al-Fatihah..
